Perfect care - perfect shape
Everything you need to know about caring for our trousers made of cotton

Washing
Use laundry detergent as sparingly as possible to prevent harmful residues from forming in the fabric. Colour detergent helps to prevent the fabric from fading quickly. Fabric softeners and similar products should be avoided.
Cotton cleans itself during the wash cycle as the fabric moves around in the drum. The laundry detergent mainly adds a pleasant smell.
Don't wash more than 3 or 4 pairs of trousers at a time. If you overload your washing machine, it makes it harder for the clothes to move around, which is essential for the cleaning process.
Select the care cycle that corresponds to the care instructions inside your MEYER trousers. This is usually the 40°C colour wash cycle. The amount of movement in an easy-care or gentle wash cycle is not usually enough to wash the trousers effectively. A pre-wash is not necessary.
For the best results, select the lowest spin speed (approx. 400 rpm) for just a short time.
At the end of the cycle, the trousers should ideally be removed from the washing machine straight away in order to prevent discolouration.
Shake them out and pull them gently into shape before drying them.

Drying & ironing
To maintain the comfortable, soft handle of your cotton trousers, we recommend you use a dryer. Naturally, you can also hang your trousers up to dry. This saves energy and protects the environment.
Select a low temperature max. 60-65°C.
Our trousers can be ironed at a moderate to medium temperature - usually denoted by 2 dots on your iron. Refer to the information on the care label.
Avoid overheating your iron.
Take particular care with fabrics containing a high percentage of synthetic fibres. Steam usually increases the temperature and should be used with caution.
We recommend ironing dark trousers and jeans inside out to prevent shiny patches.
Everything you need to know about caring for our trousers made of animal-friendly new wool
Trousers made of 100% pure new wool are generally not suitable for household laundry. Dry cleaning would usually be the correct option. However, thanks to the percentage of polyester, most wool trousers from MEYER can be washed at home in the washing machine. The basic rule with wool is to move it around as little as possible to prevent pilling - and to use as much water as possible.

Preparation & washing
Sort through your laundry carefully. Wool blend trousers should not be washed together with other fabrics.
Fasten all the buttons and zips before washing in order to prevent friction or snag-ging on the trouser fabric.
Select the wool cycle at 40°C. The gentle wash or delicates cycle at 40°C is also a suitable option.
Be sure not to spin-dry the trousers as this will cause the wool fibres to become matted in no time.
Only use detergents for wool as these are tailored to the wool fibres' requirements.

Drying & ironing
You should avoid using your tumble dryer at all costs. Even wringing out your trousers or beating them will put too much strain on the wool fibres.
If necessary, very wet trousers can be placed on a towel so that you can gently press out the water.
We recommend smoothing down the trousers by hand and hanging them up to drip-dry.
Iron your trousers inside out so that the lining doesn't get in the way.
Avoid ironing with steam as this could permanently deform the trousers or result in unwanted creases.
To get crisp pressed pleats, you can place a damp tea towel between the iron and the fabric.

It's worth a look
We're confident that these washing instructions will give you outstanding results. However, please be sure to check the laundry symbols on the label inside the trousers. We offer a wide range of trousers and some do require special treatment.
